Puri Ganesha in Singaraja, Bali
Puri Ganesha is famous for many reasons; for the huge, carefully and lovingly designed beachfront villas individually decorated with antiques and beautiful fabrics all over Indonesia, for the master bedrooms with amazing sea views, spacious garden bathrooms, cool terracotta floors, for feasting on innovative, light and tasty food to revive both body and soul, for simply letting lazy days go by spent reading, perhaps writing a little or swimming in the warm private pool, for the wonderfully therapeutic massages and the interesting discussions about food – especially Balinese and Southeast Asian food, traditions and culture over dinner in the beachfront library and for the fun days out discovering and exploring the many ancient and interesting sights of North Bali, many repeat guests agree that a ‘’real’’ holiday just doesn’t get any better!
With only four villas, the resort is very personal, with Gusti and Diana on hand to explain anything you need to know, organize exciting discovery tours and special dining experiences! Located in an unspoiled fishing village in the northwest corner of Bali, far from the crowds of the south or Ubud.
Our chefs are local and have worked with Diana to create exciting, healthy menus using purely local ingredients. The resort has a Slow Food ‘Snail of Approval’ and only imports about 10 ingredients.
We have a good library, games and a huge selection of DVD’s for you to borrow. Most of our guests like to sit and talk, sometimes dine together or read a good book!
Don’t mind our inquisitive Dalmatians coming to visit you occasionally to check that everything is alright with you?
Being adventurous and wanting to learn about the best local food? If you are a ‘foodie’ who likes to cook, please come to take part in one of our Food Weeks.
Our staff are all from the village and only 2 of them had the chance to complete secondary school. This means that their education was limited and their English skills are not the best either. They are cheerful and happy to help with anything and if there are language problems, Gusti or Diana can always help further! We have watched them develop over the years and are very happy to see how much they are appreciated by the guests they look after, even though they cannot hold conversations about their culture! Their warmth is a quality that cannot be taught, it is really genuine and stems from their hope to make their guests feel at home while they are here!
Can live without high speed internet 24/7, switch off and have a rest from the daily intrusion!
One bedroom villa Santai
Set apart from the other villas, Villa Santai has an upstairs master bedroom with an antique four poster bed, a separate dressing room and a shower bathroom. A huge day bed and antique dining table furnish the downstairs living area with a small kitchen and open garden bathroom. Furnished with antiques, the fabrics are a combination of Bali’s black and white poleng with ikats from East Bali
Two Bedroom Villa Sepi
This villa has a master bedroom with dressing room and shower bathroom upstairs and a double or twin bedroom with a large open garden bathroom downstairs. The fabrics – specially designed batiks from East & Central Java, have interesting colour combinations of cream, chocolate and dark blue. There’s an ancient spirit tree in the garden that watches over the property!
Two Bedroom Villa Senyum
Although the villa layout is the same as the other villas, as well as the master bedroom upstairs and a twin or double bedroom facing the beach, there is also an additional twin bedroom with garden view downstairs. The fabrics in this villa are pink and green handprints taken from an East Javanese batik design.
Three Bedroom Villa Senang
In addition to the master bedroom with shower bathroom upstairs, there is a double or twin garden bedroom with large open bathroom downstairs. A separate pavilion overlooking the pool houses an additional double or twin bedroom, a large terrace and garden bathroom. Villa fabrics are cheerful oranges, purple and green batiks from all over Indonesia.
