Villa Jukung Living
Villa Jukung carries a pure, white theme and the splashes of brown antique furniture gives it an edge. Walking through the villa, you’ll find that everything has been well thought-out – all credit to the loving owner’s attention to detail.
The property is divided into four pavilions – the main pavilion houses the living, dining and master bedroom (on the second floor), on the left and right of this main pavilion sits two other bedrooms, and the separate pavilion to the back of the main building has another guest bedroom.
Villa Jukung has a spacious living area that is furnished with sofas and cushions overlooking the waters of Candidasa. It is equipped with a great DVD library, DVD player/stereo System, iPod Dock and plasma TV.
There are so many places where you can choose to have your meal! The indoor dining table sits six and has an intimate setting. If you love hosting dinners the villa staff will set the table for 14-16 next to the pool and overlooking the ocean.
Alternatively, choose to savour your meal under either of the wooden outdoor tables next to the pool or under a bale right next to the ocean.
Garden & Pool
When you enter Villa Jukung, you will be greeted by a lush, green and well-kept garden. The garden foliage manoeuvres itself delicately around the guest bedroom and kitchen. The area has ample room for the children to run around, equally perfect for a large group of adults. The tropical Balinese gardens have it all: rolling lawns, coconut trees, palm trees, banana trees, and such abundance of nature you feel like you are in paradise.
Walk through the main pavilion and through the floor-to-wall glass doors, and you will come to the breath-taking pool and beach area. The large swimming pool has a deep end (that is perfect for those wanting to do a bomb dive!), and a shallow end with steps that can be used as a wading area.
Each morning you will find perfectly folded towel sculptures on the sunbeds (we felt bad having to unwrap them for use!) that overlook the man-made beach. Choose to catch a tan by the pool or walk down closer to the water should you want to dive in for a quick swim.
The outdoor area also has two bales that you will find reprieve when it gets too hot. The area is also perfect to enjoy a glass of champagne while chatting with friends as you watch the magnificent Balinese sunset.
The villa has 4 large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, all air-conditioned. The beds are special king size beds which are 2-by-2 metres of the best international brands – “King Coil” and “American”.
Sitting on the second floor of the main pavilion is the master bedroom. This spacious bedroom overlooks the ocean and you can constantly see and hear the gentle waves rumbling.
Evenings with your partner sitting by the gigantic balcony looking out at the ocean (and looking up at the stars) while having a drink have never been better.
The master bedroom has a bathtub positioned perfectly at the window where you can soak in a warm bubble-bath with a glass of wine listening to the ocean. It has twin vanities as well as a standing shower.
Two of the three guest bedrooms face the beachfront. All come with a king-size bed and ensuite bathrooms.

Villa Jukung Location
This open beachfront villa serves as a good escape, and you drive though many local villages before you get to this hidden gem. For culture vultures, you will relish the fact that this local village is also where the Ogoh Ogoh parade happens prior to Nyepi starts from, giving you a full cultural induction.
The villa is larger than you would believe given the images, and the core structure of the villa is full floor-to-wall glass. The main part of the house has the master bedroom and to its back, right, and left, sit the guest bedrooms. The living and dining area look out to the pool and garden.
